The company has faced two monumental challenges in the last six years. One challenge we faced was developing Sycamore Square, a 4 Million dollar condo community in a blighted
area of downtown Owensboro. The dream started with the purchase of many downtown parcels of property in substantial depreciation. The process was slow in the beginning but the vision of what could be developed in that area is now a reality of maintenance free lifestyle and an excellent new tax base for Owensboro. Sycamore Square serves as a beacon for those who want or dream of improving the quality of life in downtown Owensboro. We continue to look for opportunities and areas of development in downtown Owensboro. Our second challenge was entering a new golf course community developed by a local entrepreneur, The Summit Golf Community, again being able to see the vision of what could be spurred us on. Raw farmland was soon to be developed into palatial lakes, and fairways which were to be the backdrop for future homesites. Community comments, "to far out", "it'll never make it", "no new schools", "no sewer" and rural two-lane roads were obstacles destined to be overcome. Six years later approximately $20 million dollars worth of housing is lived in by people transferring to the Owensboro community. What an asset for the county tax base, utilities and numerous businesses in the area.Today, Homes by Benny Clark is one of the areas most prestigious builders with quality homes of lasting value in neighborhoods such as Tanglewood Park, Lake Forest, Stonegate Estates, Fox Chase, The Oaks Condo Community, The Alexandria Community adjacent to Owensboro Country Club, and the award winning Sycamore Square Condominium Community on the banks of the Ohio River, and The Sanctuary community in the Summit. To assist the customer in the home-building process Homes by Benny Clark conducts a team meeting with the customer to verify construction details and specifications. Attention to detail and open communication with the customer head off many potential problems. An orientation for the new homeowner is conducted 4 to 5 days prior to closing to educate the homeowner on the care and maintenance of their new home and how to operate it for maximum comfort and convenience.
